E-Learning Lab Intro!
This is the E-Learning lab, and the E in E-Learning has many meanings. The original meaning is Electronic, but in our lab’s case, it also means English, Ecotourism, and the Environment. We use in English in the lab to research environmental issues and ecotourism. My past research included researching English usage in tourism in Cambodia. I’ve also examined Nepal, Laos, and the Philippines. During the past two years we researched tourism development in Amakusa and examined Miyajidake. We experienced scarecrow making, dolphin watching, making pottery and hiking. This lab uses only English in making presentations about tourism and the environment. Students also write their graduation theses and make their final presentations all in English.
ここはE-Learningの研究室ですが、E-LearningのEにはいろいろな意味があります。 本来の意味はElectronic（電子）ですが、私たちの研究室の場合は、English（英語）、Ecotourism（エコツーリズム）、Environment（環境）という意味もあります。 研究室では、環境問題やエコツーリズムを研究するために英語を使っています。 これまでの研究では、カンボジアの観光における英語の使い方を研究しました。 また、ネパール、ラオス、フィリピンについても調べたことがあります。 この2年間は、天草の観光開発について調べたり、宮地岳を調べたりしました。 案山子作り、ドルフィンウォッチング、陶芸、ハイキングなどを体験しました。 この研究室では、観光や環境に関するプレゼンテーションを英語のみで行っています。 また、卒業論文の作成や最終発表もすべて英語で行います。
